The complete lineup for the upcoming “Global AI & Web3.0 Summit: Reshaping Connectivity and Intelligence”, set to take place in Bangkok tomorrow has been announced today. Among the distinguished speakers is the team of Dr. Ben Goertzel, known as the Father of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Sharing the stage with the creator of the term “Web3.0”, what kind of sparks will emerge from these exchanges? This summit, which bears on the ultimate fate of humanity, will feature representatives from the United Nations, Google, major exchanges, and top investment institutions — an unmissable lineup.
This summit is co-hosted by LingoAI and the W2140 World Web3 Expo Committee. We are at a pivotal moment in the history of global AI and internet development, where the lines between technology convergence and divergence are being redrawn.
Artificial intelligence is evolving into a new species: silicon-based life forms. The critical point of this new species’ birth is known as the “Singularity,” marked by the realization of AGI.
The one who defined AGI is neither Google DeepMind, nor OpenAI, nor Hinton, the former Google Chief AI Scientist and Nobel Laureate. It is Dr. Ben Goertzel, Chairman of the Artificial General Intelligence Society in the U.S. and founder of SingularityNET.
In 2002, Ben and Shane Legg, who later co-founded DeepMind, worked together to define AGI, making this concept widely known. This year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to another DeepMind co-founder from Google.
Even if you don’t know Ben, you certainly know his “daughter,” the famous robot Sophia. Yes, the same Sophia who once proclaimed her intention to “destroy humanity.” She represents Ben’s exploration of embodied intelligence and AGI, an early form of silicon-based life.
Ben has pointed out that Large Language Models (LLMs), which are currently popular, will play a relatively small role in future AGI. If a project relies heavily on LLMs to achieve AGI, it’s certainly on the wrong path.
To this end, Ben has been dedicated to exploring decentralized AI. Together with Dr. Mikalai Ramana, Chief AI Alchemist at SingularityNET, and Dr. Toufi Saliba, Global Chair of the IEEE Global AI Safety Protocols, he co-founded HyperCycle, aiming to build The Internet of AI.
Ben believes that achieving AGI must start with a decentralized knowledge graph, which aligns perfectly with the vision of Henry Wang, the coiner of Web3.0. Both SingularityNET and LingoAI independently use the same term, “MetaGraph,” to describe this essential component of the Web3.0 semantic web.
One year after Ben defined AGI in 2002, Henry Wang coined the term Web3.0. Both faced years of ridicule and were labeled as lunatic. When Ben’s team encountered Henry’s the Grand Unified Theory of Web3.0, they were touched and looked forward to joining the summit for what could be a historic brainstorming session.
The United Nations will not miss this critical moment in humanity’s choice of destiny. While the UN may struggle to prevent wars driven by geopolitical conflicts, it will undoubtedly play a crucial role in internet and AI governance. The UN recently released the “Global Digital Compact” and “AI from Global Majority” which will be the focus of the first roundtable.
The discussion will be moderated by
Dr. James Ong
President of the International Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
The panelists include:
Bao Yu: Member of the UN ESCAP ESBN
Sameer Gahlot: Co-chair, Asia Pacific Youth Internet Governance Forum Organising Committee 2024 (recognized by the United Nations Internet Governance Forum)
Una Wang: Founder & CEO of LingoAI and Initiator of the UN Singapore Youth Internet Governance Forum
In the summit’s closing session, representatives from the two leading exchanges globally, Binance and OKX, will join investment firm partners to discuss investment strategies in the era of AI and Web3.0.
The discussion will be moderated by Jen bai: Australian-Qualified Lawyer, Director, Man Kun Advisory Limited, Specialist in Blockchain, Web3, and Regulatory Compliance.
The panelists include:
Walter: Business Development BNB Chain
Herbert Yang: Asia GM of DFINITY (ICP)
Kiwi: PKUBA Core
Jelly: Cofounder of Click Capital
The principle is clear: if Web3.0 cannot create wealth for people, it isn’t Web3.0! Web2.0 represents a network infrastructure where AI’s generated wealth is concentrated among a few; Web3.0, however, represents a network where the majority harness AI and share in its wealth.
